Rovakaira is the largest electricity distribution company in Lapland, delivering reliable and efficient electricity services to customers in the areas of Kittilä, Rovaniemi and Sodankylä. The company’s existing financial management system no longer met its current business needs or future objectives. The lack of automation and modern reporting capabilities limited development, creating a clear need for system renewal.
“Our previous system did not support automation, artificial intelligence or reporting in a way that today’s business requires. We wanted a solution that would serve us well into the future and enable the continuous development of our processes. In addition, we were looking for a partner with strong expertise in both financial management process development and the system we selected,” says Marianne Kumpulehto, CFO of Rovakaira.
Following careful consideration, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central was selected as the new financial management system. The solution stood out as a scalable and secure cloud-based ERP designed to meet the needs of mid-sized organisations. Microsoft’s strong investment in automation and artificial intelligence also played a key role in the decision, as these developments open up new opportunities for Rovakaira to further enhance operational efficiency.
Efima was chosen as the implementation partner due to its extensive expertise in financial management and Microsoft technologies, as well as its experience in the energy sector. The goal of the collaboration is to introduce Efima’s financial management best practices at Rovakaira and ensure that Business Central is utilized to its full potential across process efficiency, automation and reporting.

Following the system implementation, the collaboration will continue on a long-term basis. Efima will be responsible for the ongoing development and support services of the solution. The partnership aims to support Rovakaira’s business in the years ahead and enable broader utilization of automation and artificial intelligence through innovations within the Microsoft ecosystem.
