24.10.2022 | Solution Architect Aino Jokela enjoys her work around Power Apps and emphasizes the importance of her colleagues in her career path. As a first-class team player, she wants to share her knowledge with others as well.

Aino, born in Northern Ostrobothnia, feels already at home in Tampere after 13 years. Nature and water are close-by and easily accessible – even the family’s home address was chosen partly based on being close to a forest. Näsijärvi has become a preferable place to spend her free time – in the winter with touring skates and in the summer by boating with her spouse.

Information management studies at Tampere University of Technology led to Aino’s first job in her own field: she got a job at Glaston's financial management, where she got to know the whole spectrum of financial administration. In retrospect, this extensive experience has been very valuable in the next stages of her career. After Glaston, Aino moved to Digia where she got a job as a financial management system consultant. There she was able to utilize her practical skills from a different perspective. Based on her previous experience, Aino was able to speak the same language with her financial management customers – which in Aino's opinion was very valuable.

Aino became a financial management consultant for Efima in 2015. She still remembers the job interview very vividly: during the recruitment phase, Aino wondered why the interviews were held in cafes all around Tampere and not at Efima's office. The reason became clear later – “the 4-employee cubicle" might have been too hard to swallow for someone used to modern workplaces. Luckily for everyone, when Aino started working at Efima, Efima's Tampere office moved to Tullintori.

From Aino Jokela to Aino “Power Apps” Jokela

Aino is a true Power Platform enthusiast and one of the first of its kind: "The trip to the Business Application Summit held in Seattle, USA, with Kaitsu – one of Efima's founders – opened my eyes. We understood right there and then that Power Apps could be used as a modern and agile way to customize IT systems, such as ERP, and we wanted to take this idea forward. For Efima, it's also a great way to present our expertise", Aino sums up.

In her own words, Aino is a spokesperson for Power Platform, and she enjoys meeting other experts and hearing about new features at various events. The solutions and ideas made by others give a lot of new ideas for her own work as well. "Going to Microsoft's events has always been very exciting and it's been great to come back and share what I've learned with other Efimans", Aino explains.

In Aino's opinion, Efima has invested a lot in low code expertise during the past years. There is also reason to be proud, since Microsoft chose Efima as its Power Platform Partner of the Year last summer. In addition, Efima has launched its first Power Platform product this autumn. Aino is proud to be part of Efima’s Power Platform business and is eager to follow where the business is going next.

By their own actions, everyone can help a workmate to succeed and thus ensure that Efima succeeds as well

The best things at Efima are the people and the culture – Aino’s colleagues have become almost like family. "When you can trust what your colleagues are doing, you don't have to be micromanaging everywhere. Instead, you can focus on your own tasks and be damn good at them", Aino sums up. The best things about her own work are its versatility and challenges that fortunately never end. "At Efima, I have had opportunities to learn and grow as an employee, and I have always been encouraged to create new things and challenge the norm. Even though I've been at Efima for a long time, the job description has changed often, and it feels like time has gone by quickly", Aino praises.

Autumn and colder weather make Aino excited about knitting – there are often socks or beanies on the needles, sometimes even shirts. This autumn, she will probably also knit very small socks – the family is expecting a baby and Aino will temporarily take off from work. The new situation also partially affects Aino’s hobbies: golfing has already been on a break this summer, but listening to books, such as biographies, and moving around in nature will continue. Next summer, the new family member will be able to join in a baby carrier.
