In social and care services, staff shortages, quality requirements, and cost pressures are evident in daily work: documentation piles up, shift changes rely on memory, and onboarding is burdensome. Additionally, employees’ work is often guided by heavy information systems, which take time away from client work.

If only processes are developed, changes may remain theoretical. Conversely, if only technology is introduced, solutions may become disconnected. The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health has evaluated the use of an AI solution developed by Attendo and the digital company Efima for documentation in care work. The development project demonstrated that a solution utilizing speech recognition technology can reduce the workload of care staff, improve the quality of documentation, and enhance job satisfaction.
