Profitability is one of the basic requirements of business, and for a company with complex offering, profitability calculations become necessary. Customer quotations made by the international software company often include complex cloud services and SaaS software packages. This means combining versatile pricing models and discount policies which then can lead to profitability variations unless carefully analyzed. Keeping track of quotations' profitability levels is traditionally done with manual and complex Excel files.

In order to ensure the correct profitability levels, the company was looking for a more automated way of handling the profitability calculation process. In collaboration with Efima, Power Apps -based Profitability App was developed. The App is connected directly with the Dynamics 365 Sales CRM system: thus ensuring a smooth user experience and a high degree of automation.

Instead of producing separate Excel files and calculations models, profitability calculations are now produced automatically with Profitability App - directly in CRM in connection with sales opportunities. With the help of the app, it is possible for business management to optimize and approve pricing transparently in the application. The time of controllers and service management is saved when the application takes care of verifying profitability automatically, based on the information entered in the background.
